VPA Omega Broadhead
The VPA Omega Broadhead is a precision-machined, American-made broadhead that combines the bone-splitting performance of a single bevel with the strength and durability of a double bevel.
Machined from premium S7 tool steel and hardened to 56–58 Rockwell, the Omega is built for exceptional durability, edge retention, and dependable penetration.
At the core of the design is VPA’s patent-pending LAYFLAT™ sharpening technology, allowing hunters to sharpen the broadhead simply by laying it flat on a stone—no jig required.
Key Design Features
✔ LAYFLAT™ Sharpening Technology
The Omega’s integrated blade and ferrule geometry allows the broadhead to sit perfectly flat during sharpening. This makes it one of the easiest broadheads on the market to maintain—simply lay the head flat and push forward on your sharpening surface.
✔ Hybrid Bevel Blade Geometry
The first portion of the Omega features a 40° offset double bevel, while the remaining blade transitions into a 26° single bevel. This hybrid design initiates rotation while maintaining the structural strength of a monolithic ferrule and blade.
✔ Bone-Splitting Performance
As the broadhead penetrates bone, the combination of the wedge-shaped ferrule and single bevel blade rotation creates devastating bone fracturing while maintaining deep penetration.
✔ Tanto Tip Design
The Omega features a sharp Tanto-style tip, proven to cut on contact and penetrate hide, meat, and bone with reliability.
✔ Wedge Ferrule Design
The smoothly integrated ferrule forms a wedge from tip to tail, helping hold the wound channel open and allowing the arrow shaft to pass through without interference.
Built From Premium Materials
Each Omega is CNC machined from solid S7 tool steel, a premium material chosen for its toughness, edge retention, and resistance to impact damage.
Hardened to 56–58 Rockwell, the Omega provides a combination of strength and durability that allows it to withstand repeated use in the field.
Original Omega Cutting Diameters
100 grain — .975" cutting diameter
125 grain — .975" cutting diameter
150 grain — 1 1/16" cutting diameter
200 grain — 1 1/16" cutting diameter
250 grain — 1 1/8" cutting diameter
300 grain — 1 1/8" cutting diameter
These cutting diameters were intentionally chosen to maintain excellent flight characteristics while maximizing penetration and minimizing deflection when encountering bone.
The Advantage of LAYFLAT™ Sharpening
Traditional single bevel broadheads often require a jig to maintain sharpening angles.
With the Omega, sharpening is simple:
Lay the broadhead flat on a sharpening stone, sandpaper, or sharpening surface and push forward.
No jig. No complicated setup.
This allows hunters to easily resharpen their heads in the field, even from a treestand.
Shoot. Sharpen. Reuse. Repeat.
Omega With Bleeders
Following the popularity of the original Omega, VPA introduced the Omega with Bleeders, adding a durable one-piece bleeder blade system to increase wound channel width and promote faster blood loss.
The bleeder blades are:
• Machined from 1045 carbon tool steel
• Hardened to 56–58 Rockwell
• Ground to a 35° single bevel
Bleeder blade span: 0.82"
Bleeder thickness: 0.094"
Updated Collar + O-Ring Retention System
The Omega with Bleeders now includes a machined collar and fitted O-ring retention system designed to:
✔ Maintain tight bleeder blade fit
✔ Reduce blade movement or rattle
✔ Improve long-term durability
✔ Ensure consistent alignment
Each broadhead includes one precision-machined collar and O-ring.
Updated Weight Specs (Including New Collar + O-Ring)
-
125 Grain Model: Broadhead is 100 grains; bleeder + collar + O-ring = 25 grains
-
150 Grain Model: Broadhead is 125 grains; bleeder + collar + O-ring = 25 grains
-
200 Grain Model: Broadhead is 175 grains; bleeder + collar + O-ring = 25 grains
Compatibility Note
Bleeder blades cannot be added to the Original Omega. They are designed specifically for the Omega with Bleeders ferrule and will not fit the original Omega design.
